Lindsey’s Ultra Fundraiser
Date: 19th October 2024
https://gofund.me/4f878936
Notice: This is a self-supported run, you are responsible for your food and drink, we are here to support Lindsey, you need to prepare and take responsibility for yourself. Transport will be provided to move your food and drink along the course to make life a little easier and no one will be left behind.
Intro
Lindsey was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer at the age of 41. She’s been kicking cancer’s arse for nigh on 8 years now but, as time has progressed, finding successful treatments is getting trickier. The Datar Exacta test enables tumour profiling using advanced genetic testing to match up Lin’s tumour type with the treatment that is going to be most successful in fighting it. Sounds great but not yet available on the NHS. The test itself is £4000. On October 19th a team of us will be running 50km through the Hampshire countryside to raise money for Lindsey. To help her pay for the test that potentially will lead her to the right treatment and help her kick cancer’s arse for the foreseeable.

Footwear, this is a trail run, while 2024 was a dry year I have run the route in variety of conditions and would suggest trail shoes are more appropriate but ultimately it is up to you.
